About Mary-Carmen

My story isn’t unique. It starts with suffering.
It took me years to acknowledge how deeply dissatisfied I was in life. I had done everything “right.” I was a devoted wife, committed mother, and followed the script I was given by society. But the life I had built—the one that was supposed to bring me closer to meaning—felt hollow. High religion had promised me connection, purpose, a path towards happiness. Instead, I felt trapped.
Surely, I was the problem.
At first, I clung tighter. I pushed harder, hoping that if I just did more, believed more, sacrificed more, the emptiness would disappear.
By 35, I made the hardest choices of my life. I let go of religion, my marriage, and many of the stories that kept me small. I let go of the rigid definition of what a “good mom” was supposed to be. I grieved.
And then, I started to breathe.
Mindfulness taught me how to stay with myself instead of abandoning myself. It gave me the courage to build a life that actually fits me.
Now, as I build community, I realize I don’t just want this for myself—I want it for others. I want to offer the tools that helped me break free. To anyone who has ever felt trapped in a life that doesn’t align with their desires, needs, and humanity, I want to say: There is another way.
At Create Space, I offer a safe and brave environment where you can slow down, tune in, and connect with your own inner knowing.
Through hands-on learning, we use mindfulness and contemplative practices to explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns. This journey isn’t about fixing yourself—it’s about discovering and practicing the tools that bring more ease and clarity into your life. Because your intuition knows there’s more than what our society has offered you so far.
You don’t have to do it alone. Let’s explore together. In community.
With this breath. In this moment.
